Leather Conditioner and Water Repellent |
Keep your leather looking good and lasting longer by conditioning and waterproofing with Leatherguard |
Why Leatherguard? By following a very simple application process, Leatherguard will protect your leather from moisture and dust mites. The anti fungal and anti bacterial properties of Leatherguard help reduce risk of mould, which dust mites need to help them to feed on your leather.Leatherguard will also help reduce the drying effect of the sun, air conditioning and central heating by replacing the natural oils found in leather.Your leather shoes, belts, bags, purses or wallets will still breath, however Leatherguard will not allow water to penetrate as its oils are water repellent (anhydrous). Moisture & perspiration will evaporate from your leather. You can see this action at work by trickling water over any Leatherguard treated surface. There are no solvents used in the manufacture of Leatherguard, as solvent-based dressings will remove natural oils from the leather & can cause leather to crack or discolour. |

Simple and Easy to use Ř Clean the leather surface of mud or dirt and allow to dry naturally Ř Apply Leatherguard with a clean sponge or brush or even your hand, work into all the folds & stitching. Note that a little goes a long way. Ř Allow Leatherguard to soak into the leather then if you wish, buff the surface with a 100% cotton lint free cloth (small fibres of lint can clog the pores of the leather preventing it breathing) or use a clean sponge. Leather Car Seats Use Leatherguard on all leather car seats, vintage or brand new. It won't mark your clothes and won't mist up the windows. It will feed the leather and help keep it supple, soft and safe from the drying effects of sun, wind and air conditioning. That's it! Leatherguard is also clear, so use it on any colour |

The Leatherguard Story |
On a market stall, open to the elements in Sydney, Australia, Bernie Eddy sold Mark Honoré quality leathergoods to the many passing tourists. To keep the leather protected from the harsh Australian elements Bernie tried applying leather conditioners, but one variety after another fell short of Mark’s standards and Bernie’s expectations. By lucky chance a leather technician on holiday came past. |
He and Bernie struck up a conversation which led to a challenge: make a leather conditioner that passes Mark Honore’s high standards; it must feed and penetrate the leather, not sit on the surface, it must not draw oils out of the leather with a solvent, it must help protect from sun and rain. |
It was a tall order but from this challenge Leatherguard was born. Now Mark Honore’ has an excellent product to apply to his quality leathergoods, Bernie Eddy stopped spending money on inferior conditioners and the real winner is you and your leather whether it is a horses bridle, a city briefcase, motorbike leathers, vintage car seats or just plain old belts, boots and shoes. |
